On 17th September 2019, it was my pleasure to visit the Jawaharlal Nehru University and give a lecture at the Centre for the Study of Regional Development. My talk was titled “In the shadow of state-led gentrification: The commercialisation of residential properties in Seoul”. The visit also involved discussions with colleagues at the Centre for the Study of Regional Development for potential collaboration. Many thanks to the Centre for the invitation, and to Dr Bikramaditya Kumar Choudhary at JNU (second from the left in the photograph below) and Dr Diganta Das at NTU, Singapore (first from the left) for the kind arrangement.
The university felt familiar despite being my first visit, largely because it was the alma mater of some of my friends.
