I am honoured and humbled to be elected by the editorial board of the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research (@IJURResearch) to serve as its new editor, starting from 1 January 2021 (see the link here). I’ll be working closely with brilliant two other fellow editors, Mustafa DikeƧ and Liza Weinstein (@lizaweinstein). The journal’s commitment to critical scholarship becomes ever more important during this difficult period.

It’ll be a hard act to replicate the excellence of outgoing editors, Ananya Roy (@ananyaUCLA) and Fulong Wu (@fulong_wu), who stay with IJURR as advisory board members. Their years-long contributions to the journal and critical scholarship are greatly appreciated and I am sure these will continue.

Founded in 1977, IJURR is one of the most significant journals in the field, embracing a multidisciplinary approach to critical urban scholarship. IJURR is essential reading for social scientists, publishing articles that make a decisive and original contribution to existing urban studies literature and to advance concepts, theories, and methodologies in this field of inquiry.
